“We Will All Resist”
There is plenty to resist these days. All around we find injustices. Women still don’t have equal rights. Racial and gender discrimination continue. Human rights are violated in our country and around the world.
Our resistance to injustice is stronger when we rise up together. In our faith communities and other groups, let us all join together to resist injustices.
Ministry Partner Vontril McLemore and Minister of Worship Arts DeShay Freemyer-Jackson lead the congregation at The Gathering, A Womanist Church, in singing “We Will All Resist.” Following the song, Co-Pastor Rev. Dr. Irie Lynne Session preaches a compelling sermon titled “Collective Resistance: Ready or Not It’s Time to Shift,” with Romans 12:1-2 as her text.
Chorus: We will rise up; we will all resist;
we will rise up; we will all resist,
for we will rise up stronger all together;
we will all resist.
Equal rights for women will not be denied;
equal rights for women will not be denied,
for we will rise up stronger all together;
we will all resist. Chorus
Justice for all races will not be denied;
justice for all races will not be denied,
for we will rise up stronger all together;
we will all resist. Chorus
Justice for all genders will not be denied;
justice for all genders will not be denied,
for we will rise up stronger all together;
we will all resist. Chorus
Human rights will never ever be denied;
human rights will never ever be denied,
for we will rise up stronger all together;
we will all resist. Chorus
