Collaboration enhances the creative process. It was a joy to collaborate in the creation of “Sister Spirit Dancing” and on all the songs in Hersay: Songs for Healing and Empowerment. Katie Ketchum and I felt empowered as we worked together to create the songs in this collection. Sister Spirit danced in us, energizing and guiding our creative flow.
Stacy Boorn, pastor of Ebenezer/herchurch Lutheran, also contributed creative gifts to Hersay. She supported and encouraged us throughout the writing process. She also created several songs in Hersay, and includes many of the songs from this collection in the liturgies of herchurch.
Katie and Stacy have contributed beautiful artworks to “Sister Spirit Dancing” song video and to many other Hersay song videos. On this video it was my joy also to collaborate with these gifted creative artists: Angela Yarber, Natalie Jeanne Cosby, David Clanton, Elaine Chan-Scherer, Susan Solstice, Alice Heimsoth, and Linda Palmstrom.
We pray that “Sister Spirit Dancing” and all the songs in Hersay will contribute to justice, peace, equity, and new life in our world.
Sister Spirit dancing, She is life-enhancing;
Spirit ever-growing, She is ever-knowing;
Spirit ever-living, She is ever-giving;
Sister Spirit dancing, She is life-enhancing.
Spirit in us dancing, we are life-enhancing;
Spirit ever-growing, we are ever-knowing;
Spirit ever-living, we are ever-giving;
Spirit in us dancing, we are life-enhancing.
